Browser Extension Privacy Notice

Overview

The Is This Antisemitism browser extension lets you highlight text on a webpage, right-click, and choose Is this antisemitic?

The extension is user-triggered and selected-text only. It sends information only after you choose that action.

Information the extension sends

After you use the right-click action, the extension sends:

  • the text you selected
  • the current page URL
  • the page title, when available, or the website hostname if the title is not available

The current page URL may include query parameters because it is the URL shown by your browser at the time you use the extension.

How we use this information

We use this information to create an assessment, show the source context you provided, and open the result page when the assessment is ready.

What the extension does not collect

The extension does not collect:

  • full page text
  • browsing history
  • screenshots
  • cookies
  • unrelated page metadata
  • local extension storage data
  • anything before you choose the context-menu action

The extension does not use content scripts and does not scrape the page.

Result links

The request creates a normal stored assessment result in the app. The extension opens a local checking/status page immediately after the click, then redirects that same tab to the stored result page when the assessment is ready.

Sharing

The assessment is saved as an unlisted result page. You can choose whether to share that link. Anyone with the link may be able to view the result page.
